had my brother in law in this facility and i cannot recommend enough NOT to come here. the nurses didnt seem to know basic information, when i asked about certain meds they had no idea whey he was taking them. i felt no confidence that they could get him off the breathing machine, whenever i saw him he was gurgling, they dont seem attentive to his needs, when is asked if he was aspirating they just blew me off. when i talked with other visiting families they had many of the same concerns. i would not send my worst enemy here. location is not the safest area either. i never felt comfortable leaving too late at night.
Some of the reviews are for the healthcare facility and not for the specialty hospital...The hospital is to the right of the health care facility and is very clean and pleasant to walk into...There is someone in the lobby to greet anyone coming in and none of the patients are left in the hallways because this is a HOSPITAL for patients that are in a very critical state...
I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Very gross.
My stay at Advance was made easier due to the welcoming and kind staff. Second shift at night were wonderful. Thank you Michelle, Kim, Melissa and especially Jamie and Sherry. Day time staff was also kind though I felt because I am younger and self sufficient they tended to neglect my needs especially when I needed my IV unhooked and when I called for my meds sometimes I would wait an hour with my IV beeping or have to call 3-4 times for meds. Beth is an encouraging wound care nurse, though not very timely, she uses a light hand to comfortably change wound vac and explains everything. Maybe Daytime nurses were just busier and that's why I had better experience with night time staff. Misty, Lori, and Inge were always there to help. All stna's were kind and helpful during the day. The biggest downfalls were the metiocre food that was never exactly what you ordered, no place for long term patients to do laundry and I noticed some days the nurses gossiping or on their phones which to me is unprofessional especially since I as a patient noticed the gossiping. Dr. Smallwood and is team are great and down to earth. I hope I never have to stay in a hospital for a month again but if I do, I hope I stay here. Thank you everyone I truly appreciate your hospitality, without it I probably wouldn't have stayed for my antibiotics, Jamie 122
Showed up to tour this facility..and no one was there or available to give me and my family a tour. So we did our own walk thru. Location is not desirable, now I'm not from the area but when there are 2 homeless people sleeping on the lawn and by the entrance when you walk in you don't necessarily get the most secure vibe. As we entered in the building we noticed visible dust and a horrible smell. When we asked about the tour we were blown off by the nurse who was too busy to find someone. I got way more of a nursing home feel than a "specialty" hospital vibe. Not a place I'd feel comfortable leaving my loved one.
Please be more aware of the smell in your building. It is really bad when you first walk in. More cleaning needs to be done throughout the whole place. These patients deserve better than this. Stuff all over the floors, patients left in the hallways that need attention. Also staff needs to be more friendly. Your patients do not want to be their but do not have a choice.
