I frequent this location. The Starbucks in the back is nice and the employees are prompt and courteous. I have seen some real jerks demand things from the employees and openly curse and complain while the employees remain professional. I appreciate that, having experienced rude customers before.
Always friendly and helpful. No pressure. Displays are always up to date and significant. Plus, BONUS, Starbucks counter and seating area. Relax and enjoy the amazing selection!
The bookstore itself is a little disorganized, but I like it. I typically spend the day here anyway when I come. If they don't have the book you want you can typically order it that day.
My only knock on them is that it's kind of hit and miss what they have for books. They will carry an Author but maybe only have books 4, 7 and 12 of a series. That's frustrating. Otherwise, it is always a nice time in this place, even if it's always pretty crowded.
As busy and crowded as it today with all of the Christmas shoppers all of the sales people stayed pleasant and willing to help. If they didn't know the answer to a question they found it. I thoroughly enjoy shopping at the Toledo Barnes & Noble, not just at Christmas, but all through the year!
As the last of the big bookstores, it is a treat to spend time here. I especially appreciate their selection of movies in the unique. Stuff from overseas and hard to find things can often be discovered in stock.
Came In with 10 minutes till closing and went to desert/snack bar. there were still people working at the bar with lights on. people in front of us got there food fine and we were the last people in line, not really anyone else in the store, and the worker said "sorry we are closing"even though they still had around 8 minutes until the were scheduled to close. Book stores are a dying breed, not a great way to treat customers that still come there.
I usually come to bookstores to browse more than anything and enjoy the atmosphere. I like going to the seating in the back and reading or doing computer work. There’s not a lot of places I can find aside from coffee shops where I can do that without being hassled, which makes me appreciate it more.
